Nairametrics| Efforts to rescue the Chibok girls seem to be yielding efforts as another was rescued today. Special adviser to the president on Media and Publicity disclosed this today. Here are key highlights from his discussion with State house correspondents:
- Acting President Yemi Osinbanjo announced the girl’s rescue during today’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
- The Chibok schoolgirl was found after she escaped from her captors
- The rescued girl has been brought to Abuja.

The release of this Chibok girl brings the total number of girls rescued to 107. 82 girls were released on Sunday the 7th of May 2017, and they meet with President Muhammadu Buhari before his trip to London. 276 female students of Goverment Secondary School, Chibok Bornu State were kidnapped by terrorist group Boko Haram on April 14, 2004.
