A Consul-General Has Told Nigeria To Learn A Key Economic Lesson From The U.S

Speaking at the 2016 Annual Lecture of the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Alumni Association in Lagos, Bray, in his keynote address entitled “The Challenges and Opportunities of Managing a Recessionary Economy: The American Experience’’, the United States Consul-General in Nigeria, Mr. John Bray has highlighted the need for Nigeria to learn from the economic experience of the United States as their economies have similarities.

Bray highlighted how foreign direct investment has enabled the American economy to grow in leaps and bounds. “As in the case for the U.S. economy, FDI offers much to contribute to Nigeria’s ability to grow its economy and increase its global competitiveness.” Leadership News reports Bray as saying.

Bray further hoped that Nigeria could learn from this and increase its attractiveness to foreign investors. “As the most populous country on the continent and as the largest economy in Africa, Nigeria clearly stands to gain from increasing its attractiveness to foreign investors. I hope that Nigeria will use the current recession as an opportunity to adopt and implement economic reforms to address challenges that existed before the current recession,’’ he said.

In order to achieve this, Bray said that Nigeria must emulate the qualities that continue to make the United States the number one destination for FDI in the world. Some of these qualities, Bray said, include foreign investors’ confidence of fair treatment, profit repatriation and rule of law.

A couple of years ago.there was a new television series to be created by an american major network,to be proposed starring bill Shatner titled” shit shit my dad said” and the kid posted from his e-mail address..The origin of this catchword started, that when his father annoyed or feels disgusted at our world, then he swears and said it “shit shit”.
I do not knows if the series saw the light, now I do not understand what the American consul-general means that we Nigerian should learn from America
America economic growth and expansion was predatory, exploitive, and when you look at American economic history, you find it was subsidized throughout it’s history.
The imf have said china is bigger than America by some billion.now do we borrow or learn from china now as hey have overtaken america since in the later months of this year, and in future, china will have a nationalist and protectism policies for a couple of year, they have started to imposes a limited currency control ,and they have started to imposes taxes on luxury and the rich to pay off some debt acquired by some various govt arm. 20yrs ago, they uses to says when America sneezes, the rest of the world catches cold, because America growth was fuelled by consumption.they import goods from other countries,we will see president trump economic strategy in years to come ,he proposes tax cut, which will weakens America further with secure debt piling and unbalanced foreign trade, and it’s infulences will further decline, can they rebuilt it’s infulences in the middle east..Congres override president Obama power to sue Saudis Arabia for it’ citizen activites in world trade centre 9/11,their biggest ally in middle east, very soon Russia and china have already put their foot in the door of middle east slowly by any means like what putin did in syria
China can absorbes any shock from america.apple product are manufactured in Taiwan or china, they will call mr trump to show his hand in this game of poker.in future Can..American economic formular. work in Nigeria.we Nigerians know it will not work ever in Nigeria,we are still feeling the mistake of sap,are they inflicting more harms to us Nigeria aided and consipired by foreign trained finance minister, however the consul-general should be ashamed of himself, africans built America on un-paid sweat and sorrows.he should keep his opinion to himself, afterall Africa gave the white man his present educational system and this present god and religion.he should get himself informed better
