Nigeria’s Blessing Oborodudu has guaranteed Nigeria’s first medal finish at the Tokyo Olympics after reaching the final for the women’s 68Kg category.
Blessing defeated Mongolia’s Battsetseg Soronzonbold by 7-2 in her 68Kg semifinal bout on Monday morning to advance to the final and guarantee Nigeria’s 1st medal in the category.
Blessing will face USA’s Stock Mensah, on Tuesday, 10:15 am Nigerian time to decide the gold medal.
Earlier today, women’s Basketball team, D’Tigress lost to Japan, 83-102 crashing out of the Olympics and in athletics, Tobiloba Amusan, running from lane 6 in the women’s 100 meters hurdles final at the Olympic Stadium finished fourth at 12.60 seconds, which was a top personal best for the 24-year-old Nigerian after having run 12.72 in round one and 12.62 in the semi-finals.
