Coremars Asset Management Limited has announced the launch of its first mutual fund, the Coremars Money Market Fund, with an offer size of ₦1 billion, marking a significant milestone in the company’s evolution and its ambition to build a broader investment management platform in Nigeria.
The launch follows regulatory approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission and represents the culmination of an extensive process undertaken by Coremars to establish its presence in Nigeria’s Collective Investment Scheme.
The Coremars Money Market Fund is designed to provide investors with access to a professionally managed portfolio of money market instruments, offering a structured solution for managing short-term funds while pursuing capital preservation, liquidity and income.
For Coremars, the launch represents more than the introduction of a new investment product. It marks the beginning of a new phase in the firm’s growth strategy.

“The launch of the Coremars Money Market Fund is a defining milestone for our business,” said Olawale Adebayo, Managing Director, Coremars Asset Management Limited.
“We have invested significant time and resources in building the foundation required to bring this product to market, and receiving regulatory approval is a major achievement for the entire Coremars team. With a target fund size of ₦1 billion, our immediate objective is to build scale responsibly while earning the confidence of our investors through disciplined investment management, strong governance and consistent client service.”
Building Scale Through Discipline
The ₦1 billion initial offer size reflects Coremars’ initial objective for the fund as the company seeks to establish a meaningful presence within Nigeria’s competitive asset management industry.
Rather than approaching growth solely through product expansion, Coremars intends to build its platform around investment discipline, institutional relationships and a client-focused approach to wealth and liquidity management.
The fund is suitable for a broad range of investors, including individuals, businesses, corporates and institution seeking professionally managed solutions for short-term funds.
A Stronger Institutional Proposition
The launch also provides Coremars with a new platform for deepening its relationships with corporate and institutional investors.
For businesses and institutions, managing surplus liquidity involves balancing accessibility of funds with the opportunity to generate returns. The Money Market Fund provides another avenue for Coremars to engage these investors around their short-term investment and liquidity requirements.
“The institutional market represents an important part of the opportunity ahead of us,” said the Adetutu Awojobi, Head – Institutional Sales at Coremars Asset Management Limited.
“Corporates and institutions are increasingly deliberate about how they manage their liquidity. They want solutions that are professionally managed, transparent and aligned with their investment requirements. Our objective is to understand those needs and build long-term relationships around them. The ₦1 billion initial offer size for the Coremars Money Market Fund gives us a clear starting point, but our objective extends well beyond that.”
The Beginning of a Broader Platform
The Money Market Fund is the first major mutual fund launched by Coremars Asset Management Limited and forms part of the company’s broader objective to develop a diversified investment management platform.
The firm will continue build its capabilities across investment products and asset while growing its client base and institutional relationships.
For Coremars, the immediate priority is clear: establish the Money Market Fund, attract and retain investors, and build a foundation for sustainable growth.
“Our long-term ambition is to build an asset management institution that investors can trust with increasingly significant pools of capital. Achieving that will require discipline, expertise and an unwavering focus on our clients’ interests. This fund is the first step in that journey.” Olawale Adebayo said.
A New Chapter for Coremars
The launch of the Coremars Money Market Fund comes as the firm continues to strengthen its position within Nigeria’s financial services landscape.
For investors, the fund introduces another professionally managed option for short-term capital. For Coremars, it represents the transition from building the infrastructure of an asset management business to delivering investment products at scale.
