President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday released the portfolio allocated to the ministers that were approved by the Senate.
This was contained in a statement released by the Presidency on Wednesday evening.
The list of 46 ministerial nominees which was forwarded to the president by the Senate after their confirmation, contained 9 names from the South West part of the country, with 7 designated as Ministers and 2 of them appointed Ministers of State.
Here is a brief profile of the Ministers and their portfolio ;
Dele Alake: Minister of Solid Minerals
Dele Alake is a Nigerian journalist, activist and technocrat. He is a former commissioner for Information and Strategy in Lagos State between 1999–2007.
Mr Alake is a former vice president of the Nigerian Guild of Editors. He belongs to several national, regional, and international professional bodies, such as the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the West African Union of Journalists.
Lola Ade-John: Minister of Tourism
Lola Ade John’s academic journey started at the University of Ibadan where she obtained a B.Sc. in Computer Science in 1984. Her exceptional performance earned her the honour of being the top graduate of her class that year.
Lola Ade-John is the Principal Consultant at Novateur Business Technology Consultants, a company she founded in 2014.
Bosun Tijani: Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy
Bosun Tijani is a Nigerian entrepreneur and co-founder and CEO of Co-Creation Hub, a technology innovation centre that provides a cushy nest for Innovators and Creatives solving pressing social problems in Africa.
Bosun has been named one of the 100 Most Influential People on the continent by New Africa Magazine. He also received and initiated the visit of Mark Zuckerberg for the first time in Nigeria in August 2016. In 2019, CCHub acquired Kenya’s iHub under Bosun’s leadership.
Adegboyega Oyetola: Minister of Transportation
Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola CON served as governor of Osun State from 2018 to 2022.
He contested for the Osun gubernatorial seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September 2018 gubernatorial election and won.
Tunji Alausa: Minister of State, Health and Social Welfare
Dr. Tunji Alausa is a Nephrologist and founder of the Kidney Care Center in the United States.
He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Lagos in 1993 and has since become a board-certified Nephrologist.
Between 1997 and 2001, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, where he held the position of Chief Medical Resident, responsible for coordinating training programs for interns and residents as well as serving as an Attending Physician.
Ishak Salako: Minister of State, Environment and Ecological Management
Ishak Salako is a medical practitioner and politician who has served as a Commissioner for Health in Ogun State.
During his services as a commissioner, he contributed greatly toward community health services and programs.
He is also the Co-Ordinator of the Ogun West Stakeholders Forum.
Adebayo Adelabu: Minister of Power
Adebayo Adelabu is a Chartered Accountant. He studied at Obafemi Awolowo University and proceeded to Harvard, Stanford and other Ivy League universities for professional courses.
He worked at PwC and later at CBN. He became the Deputy Governor of Operations at the Central Bank of Nigeria and also was the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate for Oyo State in 2019.
Wale Edun: Minister of Finance
Wale Edun has a background in economics, public finance, international finance, merchant banking and corporate finance at both national and international levels.
He served as the Honourable Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State (1999-2007).
He is the founder of Denham Management Limited, Chairman of Livewell Initiative. He also sits on the Board of a number of other companies.
Bunmi Tunji-Ojo: Minister of Marine and Blue Economy
Bunmi Tunji-Ojo is a lawmaker from the Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency of Ondo State.
He took a master’s degree in Digital Communication and Networking in 2006 and holds certifications in 18 professional qualifications in ICT.
Mr Ojo was one of the first set of certified ethical hackers from the Royal Britannia IT Training Academy in the United Kingdom before he turned 24 years.
