Himel, a global manufacturer, and supplier of electrical products, showcased at the recently concluded Nigeria Energy Exhibition its latest offer in Low Voltage Power Distribution, Final Distribution, Motor Control and Protection, Industrial Components, and Home Electric offers.

Speaking at the conference with Nairametrics, Sai Sri Balaji Lenka, the Vice President–Sales for the Middle East, Africa, and Central Eastern Europe for Himel said that the company only came to Nigeria in 2018, was established in 1958, and has a presence in over 50 countries. According to Lenka, Himel is determined to build a world where electricity is safe and accessible to one and all.

“Himel is a truly global brand. We work in more than 60 countries and have more than 100 partners across the world. Each product undergoes rigorous quality testing to meet each country’s specifications, and we leverage the presence of strong local partners such as Bolamark, with which we have been working since we started operations here in Nigeria.” he said.

To strike a difference with its competitors, Himel doesn’t just offer products, but a complete package – product and expert guidance – to set their customers for success in their industry, business, or home. Most importantly, the company offers a complete portfolio of products for the safe electrical infrastructure of homes, offices, commercial spaces, and industries.

According to the latest GDP report by the National Bureau of Statistics, the Manufacturing sector of Nigeria is one of the main drivers of the economy, and at the forefront of job creation. For this reason, to keep growth momentum, manufacturers’ operations need to be safer, cost and energy-efficient.
Himel products are designed and manufactured for high performance of applications, which leads to safer equipment and applications. This in turn increases employee safety, operational efficiency, and end-result quality.
One of the major challenges that Himel hopes to solve in Nigeria is that of accessibility to reliable electricity. While solar power run systems are getting more common for rural homes, there is still a need for power in urban areas, not just for lighting homes but for powering commercial and industrial operations.
Himel’s solar-ready range of products, such as Air Circuit Breakers, Molded Case Circuit Breakers, and Solar Variable Speed Drives reduce reliance on self-generated power – using petrol and diesel generators – increasing uptime and optimizing cost.

With its wide range of reliable products, Himel hopes to push aside the narrative that high-quality is always expensive. With Himel, high-quality is not only affordable but accessible too.

“Our plan is to make everybody realise they need to go for reliable products and that this can be affordable. It is said that in the world, more than 60% of fire accidents are caused by faulty electrical products and improper wiring. We, therefore, encourage the use of reliable products with a strong backing in terms of quality assurance,” Lenka added.
