The Katsina State Government has ordered the restoration of telecoms services in Local Government Areas which have been heavily affected by growing banditry and terrorism.
This was disclosed by Special Adviser to Gov. Aminu Masari on Security Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Katsina, on Thursday in Katsina.
The state government said the plan to resume telecoms operations in the affected areas is due to relative peace and normalcy returning to the areas.
The local government areas are: Jibia, Batsari, Safana, Kurfi, Danmusa, Dutsin-Ma, Kankara, Matazu, Musawa, Funtua, Faskari, Sabuwa, Dandume, Bakori, Danja and Malumfashi
This comes after a September directive to pause telecoms operations in the areas due to rising banditry.
In case you missed it
Recall Nairametrics reported that the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, announced the suspension of the ban on telecommunication services in the state.
Also last month, the Kaduna State Government announced the immediate restoration of telecommunication services in some parts of the states where they were earlier suspended, coming barely 2 months after telecommunication companies shut down their services in some parts of Kaduna State at the instance of the state government and security agencies as part of measures to check the activities of bandits, kidnappers and other criminal elements.
