Nestcoin, a Nigerian cryptocurrency investment firm, dedicated to building and investing in crypto-focused products just made an investment in LazerPay, a cryptocurrency payment platform that touts to be the ‘Stripe for cryptocurrency’.
This was disclosed in a press release seen by Nairametrics. According to the press release, the amount invested by Nestcoin is undisclosed but it marks Nestcoin’s first-ever investment in a crypto-focused project.
Yele Bademosi, co-founder of Nestcoin, also took to his Twitter handle to make the announcement as he tweeted, “Super excited to announce @nestcoin’s first ever investment in @lazerpay, founded by @njokuscript, one of the smartest and brightest young minds in the crypto space.LazerPay makes it easy for anyone anywhere to accept Stablecoins like USDC, USDT, BUSD as payment online.

LazerPay was founded by Emmanuel Njoku, known to be a blockchain engineer. The platform also launched a beta version of its payment platform and the beta product is open to African businesses alone for a start. In the coming months, we will roll out to cover more continents.
According to the press release, LazerPay was built out of the need to help businesses accept cryptocurrency payments easily. It stated, “The increased adoption of crypto evidences the need for businesses to accept crypto payments easily. But there are challenges; these range from horrible user experiences — for their customers — to bumpy exchange processes and limitations on crypto tokens they can accept.”
The report touts that LazerPay was created to solve the challenges businesses experience in receiving crypto payments. It stated, “With LazerPay, the complexity of setting up a structure to accept crypto payments is handled entirely by us. As a business owner, you only need to set up your business on LazerPay and choose to integrate or collect payments through your branded payment links.”
LazerPay will also be introducing its own tokens. “These tokens are a type of currency peculiar to the LazerPay platform. As activities increase on the platform, their value increases. Various community members will own some of them, which will empower them to make critical decisions for the platform,” the statement read.
Nestcoin is a Nigerian crypto-focused company founded by Taiwo Orilogbon and Yele Bademosi, with a mission to “democratize access to economic opportunities by demystifying cryptocurrency, making it simple and creating access to economic opportunity for everyday people in frontier markets.
