The Office of the Presidency officially inaugurated the construction of the Presidential Wing of the State House Clinic, Abuja.
The inauguration was conducted by the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, in Abuja on Monday.
The Chief of Staff said the Presidential wing when completed would provide world-class health services for the President of Nigeria, his Deputy and members of their respective families.

”It is a humble beginning but what we are doing today will outlive the current administration and will serve many generations yet unborn.
”We know how important health is to the life of every individual and government will continue to do its best to deliver healthcare to the people,” Professor Gambari said.
He advised the construction company in charge of the contract, Julius Berger to commence work immediately as the Permanent Secretary State House, Tijjani Umar, stated that the construction and inauguration of the project will be done by December 2022.
“In line with the approved timeline for the construction of the presidential wing of the State House Clinic, Nov. 1, 2021 was set aside and approved as the ground-breaking day.
”In other words, we will do the foundation laying ceremony and from here, move forward with the full construction activity,” he said.

According to Nairametrics research, the sum of N3,505,670,438 has been budgeted for the state house clinic since 2017.
Data from Nairalytics, the research arm of Nairametrics reveals that the sum allocated for the State House Clinic since 2017 are as follows:

However, facility maintenance has to be enforced to end the current situation where despite spending N3.5 billion on the health care facility since 2017, senior public health officials still cannot be treated at the State House Clinic.
