Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, has dared United Nations (UN) official’s claim that just a small percentage of his wealth could help solve world hunger.

Musk was replying to UN World Food Programme Director, David Beasley, who repeated an appeal last week after an earlier tweet last month asking billionaires like Musk to “step up now, on a one-time basis.”

Musk and Amazon.com Inc. co-founder, Jeff Bezos, the two men at the top of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, have been specifically urged by Beasley to take action. According to Beasley, $6 billion could save the lives of 42 million people.

What Musk is saying about Beasley’s claim

Responding to Beasley’s claim, the world’s richest man, with a net worth of $311 billion took to Twitter to tweet, “If WFP can describe on this Twitter thread exactly how $6B will solve world hunger, I will sell Tesla stock right now and do it.”

“Open source accounting, so the public sees precisely how the money is spent,” Musk added.

In case you missed it

Elon Musk is the CEO of the electric-vehicle company, which entered an exclusive group of corporations valued at over $1 trillion last week.

The $6 billion figure is a drop in the bucket compared to Musk’s current net worth of $311 billion, and less than the $9.3 billion boosts in his wealth on October 29 alone.

As a result, Musk became the first individual in modern history to have a net worth of more than $300 billion.

Great assignment from Elon. These world organisations have been working for decades yet the challenge they seek to solve keep increasing. Is there really a goal to achieve the results of its just a lifelong bureaucracy .
