Two new cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed on Tuesday evening.

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control made the announcement on its Twitter handle, in its regular COVID-19 updates.

According to the tweet, one case is in Abuja and the other is in Bauchi.

One of them is a returning traveller while the other is a contact of a previously confirmed case.

Meanwhile, Nairametrics had reported that as at Tuesday afternoon, the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria was 42, with 29 of this figure in Lagos state, 7 in FCT Abuja, 3 in Ogun state, and 1 each in Ekiti, Oyo and Edo state.

So far, two have been discharged, with one dead, and 41 undergoing treatment.
