The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended Friday’s trading session in positive territory. The All-Share Index closed at 27,698.69 basis points, up 1.19%.

Top Gainers

Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc was the best-performing stock today. The stock gained 7.26% to close at N42.85. Dangote Sugar Plc gained 4.74% to close at N11.05. Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc gained 2.19% to close at N14. Nigerian Breweries Plc also gained 1.06% to close at N52.55. Nestle Nigeria Plc rounded off the top five gainers for today. The stock gained 0.83% to close at N1210.1.

Top Losers

On the flip side, Eterna Plc was the worst-performing stock, declining by 8.33% to close at N2.75. Cadbury Nigeria Plc fell by 6.01% to close at N10.95. Zenith Bank Plc fell by 1.58% to close at N18.7. Dangote Flour Plc fell by 1.12% to close at N22.15. Guaranty Trust Bank Plc rounded off the top five losers for the day. The stock shed 0.85% to close at N29.

Top Trades by Volume

Nigerian Breweries Plc was the most actively-traded stock today. 28.1 million shares valued at N1.47 billion were traded in 82 deals. Guaranty Trust Bank Plc was next with 17.6 million shares valued at N512.2 million traded in 162 deals, followed by FBN Holdings Plc with 15.9 million shares valued at N89.5 million traded in 288 deals.

United Bank of Africa Plc was next with 15.2 million shares valued at N93.6 million traded in 224 deals. Zenith Bank Plc rounded off the top five most actively traded stocks today with 14.5 million shares valued at N275.9 million traded in 314 deals.
