NSE trades negatively again with Chams Plc topping worst-performing list

The Nigerian Stock Exchange ended Wednesday’s trading session in negative territory. The All Share Index closed at 29,609.00 basis points, down 0.20%.

Year to date, the index is down 5.80%.

Top Gainers and Losers: Courtville Business Solutions Plc was the best performing stock today. The stock gained 9.52% to close at N0.23. Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc gained 9.09% to close at N0.24. Linkage Assurance Plc gained 7.58% to close at N0.71. Nigerian Breweries Plc gained 6.90% to close at N62. Berger Paints Nigeria Plc rounds up the top five gainers for today. The stock gained 6.72% to close at N7.15.

On the flip side, Chams Plc was the worst performing stock, declining by 10% to close at N0.27. Beta Glass Plc fell by 9.97% to close at N66.35. Cement Company Northern Nigeria Plc fell by 9.77% to close at N12. Prestige Assurance Company Plc fell by 7.41% to close at N0.50. Unity Bank Plc rounds up the top five losers for the day. The stock shed 7.25% to close at N0.64.

Top Trades by Volume: Wema Bank Plc was the most actively traded stock today. 194 million shares valued at N128 million were traded in 27 deals. Guaranty Trust Bank Plc was next with 20.3 million shares valued at N625 million traded in 157 deals. Unilever Nigeria Plc was next with 20 million shares valued at N643 million traded in 29 deals.

FBN Holding Plc was next with 17.3 million shares valued at N118 million traded in 144 deals. Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc rounds up the top five most actively traded stocks today with 14.6 million shares valued at N204 million traded in 82 deals.
