Anchor Insurance's executive director gets NAICOM confirmation

Anchor Insurance Company Limited has appointed a new executive director after an approval from the National Insurance Commission, the insurance company announced in a statement.

The National Insurance Commission approved the appointment of Ikuomola Adeleke as the executive director, technical of Anchor Insurance Company, following a decision by the company’s board of directors last year.

In a statement received from the commission signed by NAICOM Director (Governance, Enforcement and Compliance), Leonard Akah, Anchor Insurance stated the appointment met the criteria of NAICOM after the commission carefully reviewed the company’s application and the supporting documents.

NAICOM also approved the appointments of Fasanmi Olajide and Olubukola Koyenikan as the general manager, marketing and head, enterprise risk management respectively.

Who is Ikuomola Adeleke

Adeleke started his insurance career in 1989, and before his appointment as executive director, technical, in September 2018 by the board of directors, he was the group head, technical of the company.

After working with different insurance companies and brokerage organisations in different technical capacities, he joined Anchor Insurance Company Limited in April 2011.

“He holds an HND in Business Administration from Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic and an MBA in Marketing from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. He is an associate, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria.” Anchor stated.

About Fasanmi Olajide and Olubukola Koyenikan

Olajide previously worked for Staco Insurance Plc where he was the assistant general manager, brokers/branch operations before joining Anchor Insurance in May 2018. He He holds a B.Sc and an MBA from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University and the Lagos State University, Ojo, respectively.

“He is an associate member, Nigerian Institute of Management, Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers and Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, Olubukola began her career in the insurance industry as an internal auditor and compliance officer at Standard Alliance Insurance Plc in 2014, and later joined Anchor Insurance in August 2018.

Olubukola holds a B.Sc in Economics from the Lagos State University and an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business. She is a member, Association of Certified Chartered Accountants and an affiliate of the Certified Institute of Risk Management (IRM –UK), this is according to the firm.

About Anchor Insurance

Anchor Insurance Company Limited was licensed in October 1989 as a General Business (Non-life) Insurance outfit and started operations in November of the same year. In January 1992, the Company added Life/Pension class of Insurance to its business portfolio thereby attaining the status of a Composite Insurance Company.

In 1998, Anchor Insurance Company Limited was re-registered by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) as a composite insurance company.
