The Nigerian Stock Exchange opened the week on a bearish note. The All Share Index closed today’s trading at 31,344.24 basis points, down 0.26%. Year to date, the index is down 0.27%.

Top Gainers and Losers 

NPF Microfinance Bank Plc was the best performing stock today. The stock gained 9.59% to close at N1.60. Union Diagnostics and Clinical Services was next with a 7.41% gain to close at N0.29. Oando rounds the top three gainers, appreciating by 5.15% to close at N5.10.

On the flip side, Berger Paints Plc was the worst performing stock today. The stock shed 9.68% to close at N7. Consolidated Hallmark Insurance  Plc was next, dropping by 8.57% to close at N0.32. Mc Nichols Plc rounds up the top three losers for today. The stock shed 7.69% to close at N0.36.

Top Trades by Volume 

Fidelity Bank Plc was the most actively traded stock today. 23.7 million shares valued at N56.6 million were traded in 256 deals. UBA Plc was next with 21.8 million shares valued at N162 million were traded in 237 deals.

Diamond Bank Plc rounds up the top three most traded stocks with 21.2 million shares valued at N48.4 million were traded in 173 deals.

Corporate Action

UBA Plc announced the retirement of a non-executive director Kola Jamodu from the board of the bank.

the retirement of Chief Kola Jamodu, CFR, a Non-Executive Director from
the Board of United Bank for Africa Plc, with effect from January 28, 2019, following the expiration of his tenure.

Chief Kola Jamodu, joined the UBA Group in January 2007 and served on the board for 12 years successfully completing three terms of four years each.

AXA Mansard

The board of AXA Mansard Plc will meet on February 13, 2019, to consider the Audited Financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2018.

Issues relating to a dividend, the hospital project, and other agenda items may also be discussed at the meeting.
