Details of Angela Merkel’s visit to Nigeria

German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, on the final lap of her visit to Africa touched down at Aso Rock and was received by President Muhammadu Buhari. Her visit comes on the heels of British Prime Minister Theresa May.

Ahead of the Chancellor’s arrival, the German Business Delegation was received in a meeting presided by the Nigerian Minister of Trade and Investment, Okey Enelamah.  In attendance were are officials from key economic departments and agencies

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed German African Business Association and Nigerian Association of Chambers of commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA).

Another MoU was signed between Petkus Technologies, a German Company and Nigerian Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL). The partnership is meant to grow large scale agriculture of both countries.

 

The President then hosted the German Chancellor and the German delegation to lunch following the end of the conference.
