Unity Bank has announced the appointment of two executive directors. In a letter of a notice sent to the Nigerian Stock Exchange, the two newly appointed executive directors are Mr. Usman Abdulquadir and Mr. Ebenezer. A. Kolawole.
Profile of Usman AbdulQadir
Usman graduated from Bayero University Kano in 1994, where he studied Accounting. He obtained M.A in Islamic Finance from Durham University the United Kingdom in 2013.
He started his career with FSB International Bank as a relationship manager in 1996. Usman joined Reliance Bank as a Business Development Manager in 2003, before moving to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) later that year where he rose to the position of a principal bank examiner, offside supervision.
Usman left the CBN in February 2016 to join SunTrust Bank Nigeria Ltd as an executive director. Prior to his new appointment, he served as MD/COO FMDQ Clear Ltd and Divisional head post-trades services FMDQ OTC from August 2017.
Profile of Ebenezer Kolawole
Ebenezer is a 1991 graduate of Accounting from the Obafemi Awolowo University. In 1994Â he joined the services of Ecobank Nigeria Plc as a banking executive in Banking operations and rose to the position of deputy financial controller of the bank. He joined Standard Trust Bank in 1999 where he rose to the position Group Head, compliance/regulatory risk management of the bank before the merger of STB with UBA in 2005.
While at UBA, he functioned as Chief Financial Officer, UBA Nigeria/Regulatory & External Reporting; Group Head Financial Reporting and Group Financial Controller until he left the bank in 2011. He later joined Mainstreet Bank Ltd from November 2011 to January 2015 as Group Chief Financial Officer. He assumed duty with Unity Bank in September 2015 as Chief Financial Officer.
