In a notice sent to the Nigerian Stock Exchange today, the Board of Directors of AXA Mansard Insurance Plc has unanimously approved the appointment of Mr. Yomi Onifade as an Executive Director of the Company. His appointment has also been approved by the National Insurance Commission.
Yomi Onifade graduated with a Bachelor of Science B.Sc in Insurance from the University of Lagos in 1996. He also attended the Lagos Business School (Senior Management Programme ) in 2007, Chicago Booth School of Business Executive Ecucation programme in 2009, INSEAD Organizational Leadership programme in 2012,  and the London Business School, Senior Executive Programme in 2015.
Onifade worked at Standard Alliance Insurance between 2001 and 2002 as the Team Member, Brokers Unit and Head, Multi Clients Unit 2. He then resumed at First Assurance as the Head of Financial Institutions in 2003 before moving to AXA Mansard in 2004. Prior to his appointment as Executive Director, he was the Divisional Head , Retail Business.
AXA Mansard was incorporated in 1989 and was previously owned by GT Bank until the bank sold its stake in line with a CBN policy for banks to form a holding company or divest from non core subsidiaries. French insurer, AXA bought majority stake in the company in 2014.
AXA Mansard has interests in insurance, asset and investment management, health insurance, property development and pension fund administration and management. AXA Mansard Group comprises AXA Mansard Insurance plc and four subsidiaries all operating in Nigeria.
