Ratings agency Fitch has maintained triple A rating for Stanbic Ibtc holdings and Stanbic Ibtc bank. Another tier two lender, Sterling Bank was assigned an issuer rating of B- and a national long-term issuer rating of BBB-, with a stable outlook.
Stanbic Ibtc Holdings is the parent company of Stanbic Ibtc bank and other subsidiaries. Stanbic Ibtc shares closed at N41.80 in yesterday’s trading session on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, up 178% year to date. Sterling bank shares closed at N1.00, up 31% year to date.
Fitch ratings is one of the three big rating agencies in the world and was established in by John Knowles Fitch on Decemeber 24 1914.
