President Muhammadu Buhari today sent the names of nominees for the Code of Conduct bureau to the Senate. In a letter addressed to the Senate President Bukola Saraki, the President also requested for an accelerated screening of the nominees.

Danjuma Sado, member, Edo South
Obolo Opanachi, member, Kogi North Central
Ken Madaki Alkali, member Nasarawa, North Central
S.F. Ogundare, member, Oyo, South West
Ganiyu Hamzat, member, Ogun South West
Sahad Abubakar, member, Gombe North East
Vincent Nwanne, member, Ebonyi South East
The Code of Conduct Bureau was established by virtue of the 1979 constitution and has since been retained in subsequent constitutions. The Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act of 1990 outlines the bureau’s functions which include to receive asset declaration forms, ascertain them, and ensure compliance with the laws. The commission is also mandated by the law to receive complaints pertaining to asset declarations and if need be, refer them to the code of conduct tribunal.
