Axxela is set to build a 510km pipeline across Central and Western Nigeria. This pipeline is expected to run through Ibadan-Illorin-Jebba.
This was stated at the ceremony conducted to submit a feasibility report on the proposed project to the Nigerian Gas Processing and Transportation Company (NGPTC) a subsidiary of the nation’s oil company the Nigerian National Petroleum Commission(NNPC).
The feasibility study was submitted in line with the requirements for building a gas pipeline within the framework of the Nigerian Gas Master Plan for the improvement of power generation and distribution to major cities within the South-Western region of the country.
The report which was conducted by a US based consultancy firm was welcomed with relish by Engr Saidu Mohammed, NNPC’s Group Executive Director and COO of Gas and Power who stated that the timing was most proper due to the current opportunities the sector has provided.
Also CEO of Axxela, Bolaji Osunsanya expressed his appreciation to the participation of stakeholders especially NNPC while stating that the project was hinged on the vision of the Government to improve the power situation in the country.
The pipeline is expected to commence in Ibadan while running through Ogbomoso, Osogbo, Ado-Ekiti, Illorin to terminate in Jebba, Kwara State.
Axxela a midstream company in the oil and gas industry is also currently expanding its natural gas pipeline grip in Port Harcourt as well as Lagos.
