From the inception of Zenith Bank till July 2010 when he resigned, he was at the helm of affairs for about 20 years. About 4 years later (2014), he was reappointed chairman of the same bank. He founded James Hope College, Agbor Delta state as well as the Jim Ovia Foundation which is focused on providing scholarship to the less privileged; and the Youth Empowerment and ICT Foundation which focuses on improving the socio-economic welfare of Nigerian Youths.

Ovia’s philanthropic moves have benefited thousands who are now professionals in different skills. His business prowess should not be overlooked either. This AAI Annual Awards is a great event that should see more participation from  Nigerian entrepreneurs, as Jim Ovia has set the pace. It’s ‘high profile stage’ is something every African entrepreneur can as well aspire to.
