Delta Airlines has recently extended its service by offering its customers a new way to reach the commercial hub of Nigeria, Lagos.

According to the statement by the company, Delta Air lines would be offering customers a new way to reach Lagos, beginning March 24, 2018 via new service from the airline’s New York-JFK hub.

It added that the flight will operate three times weekly, complementing the existing four-times-weekly service from Atlanta.

The thrice a week service would feature a departing schedule from JFK on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 10:50 pm, landing in Lagos at 02 :50 pm the following day.

The return flight will leave Lagos at 10:30 pm, arriving back into New York at 05:30 am the following day.
The route will be operated by an A330-200 aircraft configured for 34 seats in Delta One business class, 32 Delta Comfort + seats, and 168 Main Cabin seats.

The US carrier already serves Lagos with four weekly flights from its Atlanta hub. Delta also operates flights to the African cities of Accra, Dakar, Senegal and Johannesburg.

In his comment, Henry Kuykendall, the Vice President-New York said, “JFK is one of Delta’s gateways to the world, and we’re proud to make that world a little smaller with the launch of service to Lagos.”

This new route to the African continent joins existing service from JFK to Dakar and Accra, and follows new transatlantic routes to Lisbon, Berlin and Glasgow that began this spring.

Nigeria has been a strategically important market for Delta over the past 10 years and is a mainstay in our African network,” said Dwight James, Delta’s Senior Vice President – Trans-Atlantic.
