Nairametrics| As Nigerians continue to be kept in suspense over the real owner(s) of the $43 million found in an apartment in upscale Ikoyi, Lagos State, the presidential committee set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate the matter has released some high profile names it will invite for questioning, Premium Times has revealed. Some of the names included are as follows
- Goodluck Jonathan, erstwhile President of Nigeria
- Godwin Emefiele, Current Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria
- Ibrahim Magu, Current Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
- Ibrahim Idris, Inspector-General of Police
- Lawal Daura, Director-General of the Department of State Security (DSS)
- Ayodele Oke, recently suspended Director-General, National Intelligence Agency (NIA)
- Olaniyi Oladeji, erstwhile Director-General NIA
The committee comprising of Attorney General Abubakar Malami and National Security Adviser, Mr. Monguno and headed by Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo was set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate he discovery of large amounts of foreign and local currencies by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in a residential apartment at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos, over which the National Intelligence Agency, NIA, has made a claim.
It will be recalled that about a week and a half ago, the EFCC during a sting operation broke into Flat 7B in Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos and found $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23,218,000 hidden inside it. Follow all the key events as reported by Nairametrics here
