Nairametrics| About 579 workers of the Plateau State government have been sacked and taken off the government’s payroll, the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr. Muhammad Nazif has said.
According to him, out of these, 101 had continued in service beyond their terminal dates and have been on the government’s payroll. In addition to striking their names off the payroll, these ones are also expected to return over 70 million Naira to the State Government.
As for the remaining 478 sacked workers, Nazif said that their offenses varied in nature from improper documentation, underage employment, improper placement where an employee within 10 years of employment became a senior staff and issues where such employees did not even exist.
He also called for staff cooperation and commitment as he claimed that the government would do all in its power to deliver good governance.
