The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) is expected to create 1,800 new jobs nationwide in the next month.
Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige disclosed this on Thursday in Sokoto, during the distribution of starter packs and soft loan to 150 youths trained by the NDE in Sokoto State.
Ngige noted that the NDE had over the years demonstrated that skills acquisition is a potent weapon in fighting mass unemployment.
“I have directed the NDE to ensure that every single person that graduates from the scheme is resettled with the requisite equipment for immediate establishment of small scale businesses.
“The Federal Government will continue to support NDE in the regular provision of resources for the resettlement of graduates of its skills acquisition programmes,” Ngige said.
