The issue concerning the controversial 2016 budget has finally been laid to rest.
President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the 2016 appropriation Bill.
The occasion took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday.
Buhari had returned the document to the National Assembly mainly because there were “grey areas” in it that needed clarifications
After weeks of scrutiny by a joint committee of the National Assembly, the final copy of the document was submitted to the Presidency on Thursday.
President Buhari had submitted the 2016 draft budget on the 22nd of December, 2015 to a joint sitting of the National Assembly.
Details Later….
A GOOD PRESIDENT WITH THE LOVE OF THE NATION AND THE MASSES AT HEART WOULD DO WHAT PRESIDENT BUHARI HAS DONE BY TAKING HIS TIME TO SCRUTINIZE THE BUDGET BEFORE APPENDING HIS SIGNATURE. I COMMEND HIS ACTION AND HOPE THAT IN THE NEAR FUTURE, NATIONAL ASSEMBLY MEMBERS SHOULD TAKE ENOUGH TIME TO CHECK AND UPDATE BUDGET BEFORE RUSHING IT FOR SIGNATURE BY THE PRESIDENT. WITH THE SIGNING OF THE BUDGET, ONE WOULD EXPECT STRONG ACTIVITIES IN THE FORWARD MOVEMENT OF THE ECONOMY. I ALSO UPHOLD THE BELIEF THAT EACH MINISTRY WOULD UTILIZE THE FUNDS APPORTIONED TO IT JUDICIOUSLY. AS EXPECTED, ACTIVITIES AT THE NIGERIAN STOCK EXCHANGE WOULD IMPROVE CONSIDERABLY WITH THE RESULTANT AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS FROM THE BUDGET.
