Group Managing Director (GMD), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and ministerial appointee, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu will be replaced later this month from the helms of affairs in the NNPC.
It was revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari has already picked out three persons, including Deputy Managing Director of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), Isa Mohammed Inuwa.
It was further discovered that Kachikwu had beaten two others – Inuwa and General Manager, Total E&P Nigeria Limited, Mr. Ahmadu-Kida Musa –be appointed as NNPC GMD in August.
Reports have it that Buhari has added one more name to contest with Inuwa and Musa for the top job.
The trio are all northerners. This is not unexpected as Kachikwu will be a minister of state for petroleum from Delta State in Southern part of Nigeria.
