The Lagos State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointments of 37 cabinet nominees of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for the state Executive Council.
Presenting the report of the 15-man committee set up to screen the nominees, Chairman of the committee, Hon. Wasiu Eshinlokun said that all the 37 nominees showed up for the screening with copies of their Curriculum Vitae and credentials verified.
He added that the documents submitted were thoroughly verified by the committee, which sat for one week from Monday, 5 October to Friday, 9 October, 2015.
Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, asked the Clerk of the House, Mr. Segun Abiru, to send a letter to the governor indicating that the nominees had been confirmed by the House.
The report was taken after the House embarked on a general screening of the House during which the nominees were simply asked to introduce themselves and explain how they were screened by the committees last week.
