The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has returned the sum of N924million diverted from the account of the Federal Ministry of Environment to the ministry.
The Chairman of the ICPC, Mr. Ekpo Nta, handed over the recovered money to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Mrs. Nana Nebe, at the ICPC headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.
Nta also handed over the sum of N56.2 million, which was recovered out of a diverted sum of N103 million, to three Federal Government colleges.
The affected schools are the Federal Government College, Odogbolu, Federal Government Girls College, Sagamu and the Federal Science Technical College, Ijebu Mushin.
The money meant for the meal subsidy of students and capital projects in the three schools were allegedly diverted by a Federal Pay Officer in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
