- The Federal Government on Tuesday ‘sacked’ the Managing Director, Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria, Mr. Mustafa Chike-Obi and also dissolved the Management Team of the corporation.
- The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity Mr. Femi Adesina, made this announcement in a statement released Tuesday.
- Mr Chike Obi’s tenure, Nairametrics understands was actually supposed to have come to and end in September 2015.
- Ahmed Lawan Kuru has now replaced Chike Obi as the new managing director of the corporation
- Ahmed Lawan Kuru before now was the Group Managing Director of Enterprise bank, which was recently sold to Skye Bank Plc by AMCON.
- Kuru had risen through the ranks to become and executive director in Bank PHB (Enterprise Bank)
- The president also named Kola Ayeye, Eberechukwu Uneze and Aminu Ismail as new executive directors.
- The appointment of Kuru and the three new AMCON executive directors took effect from August 18, 2015, the statement added.
