- Skye Bank Plc has pledged it’s support to the country’s manufacturing sector as a veritable catalyst of change and harbinger of economic development.
- Executive director, Abuja and Northern Directorate, of the bank, Mr Idris Yakubu, stated this in his address at a small and medium enterprise (SME) seminar for the manufacturing sector organised by the bank.
- According to him, manufacturing represents a good approach to diversifying the economic base of the country and the sector would ensure a broad economic base for the country.
- Specifically, Yakubu said apart from providing more employment opportunities, manufacturing would also enhance the tax net of the government and increase its ability to embark on meaningful developmental projects.
- He described Kano as crucial in the nation’s economic activities as the city hosts many manufacturing companies.
