The Federal Government placed a target of 5,000MW for Power Generation by December 31st 2014. However, data coming from the Ministry of Power suggest the government is on course to record another failed target. According to the data, Nigeria currently generates a little over 4,000MW and hit a peak of 4,389.70MW this year compared to a demand of 12,800MW. Nigeria last generated a peak power generation of 4,517.6 MW on December 23rd 2012.
