Air travellers in the country may start to pay more for airfares once the Federal Government commences the collection of airport development charges across all terminals managed by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.
This is coming as the Airline Operators of Nigeria, an umbrella body for domestic carriers in the country, stated that it would support government’s programme aimed at developing the airports, including the planned introduction of the levies.
Last week, the Federal Government announced plans to introduce airport development charges across all the nation’s airports in a bid to clear a debt of over N174bn confronting the Federal Ministry of Aviation.
