If you have noticed, lately there has been a scarcity of N100 notes at least in Lagos. This scarcity was mentioned on popular forum Nairaland and I decided to do a bit of investigation myself. I use the Lagos Airport tollgates quite frequently lately and for the past two weeks I haven’t been given N100 change.
I have deliberately given them N1000 notes expecting to receive at least a N100 note as change amongst the N500. Al I got was N50. In fact, I got more N50 notes than N200 to arrive at my N800 change. But I never received N100 change. I believe the toll gate is one of the best places to perform this test. What is your experience?
