Following the Dana Air Crash and the subsequent suspension of the airline airfares for local flights in Nigeria sky rocketed as only about three airlines were available to fly. However, The Punch Newspaper investigation reveals the resumption of flight by Dana Air has since contributed to the 50% reduction of Airfares for local flights of about one hour. According to the report, the return of Dana and Chanchangi and the commencement of flights by a new operator, Med-View Airlines, in the last two months have led to the drop in airfares.
Dana Air sells its one-hour flight ticket (economy class) for between N14,000 and N20,000 depending on how early a passenger buys the ticket. See article for more on the story
I feel the prizes we pay on airfare in nigeria is unheard of…especially that of Arik Air…i think a little bit of competition is good for business..
