GUESS WHICH NIGERIAN BEER HAS THE HIGHEST VOLUME OF ALCOHOL?

Alcoholic drinks in Nigeria are very popular and have for decades served as a profitable business for the likes of Guiness and Nigerian Breweries. The volume of alcohol consumed in Nigeria (said to be the highest in Africa consuming about 11.6litres per capital in beer alone) has consistently increased over the years such that it has attracted the investments from one of the biggest brewer’s in the world – SAB Miller. Alcohol consumption though a huge source of jobs and revenue for the government brings with it health hazards very well known to its consumers. As such, the Government tries to regulate the volume of alcohol contained in every alcoholic beverage that is sold to consumers.

Off course with regulation in volume of alcohol comes increased competition as each beer brand tries as much as possible to remain within the regulated limits and still maintain an acceptable level of alcohol. Without much ado here is the ranking for the top 6 alcohol beverage sold in Nigeria

Guinness Stout  – 7.5%

Smirnoff Ice       – 5.5% (This surprised me)

Gulder Lager      – 5.2%

Star Lager           – 5.2%

Harp Lager         – 5.1%

Heineken            – 5.0%

When next you order a beer, remember which has the most alcohol

This is the authentic result. The promoters of MONEY DROP should go and get the true facts. Nigerians consume more Beer than Wine. I may not have drank Beer or Wine in 20 yrs, but we all know that Beer is the first choice of Nigerians when it comes to Alcoholic beverages, at least for those still drinking.
