If you own or manage a business in Lagos, then I am sure you must have at one time or the other, been served different kind of demand notices requesting for payment of one fee or the other. Notable amongst those agencies are the Local Governments. This is not lost on the Lagos State Government as they have for years been accused for issues of multiple taxation arising from several of their agencies and parastatals. For this reason they released a schedule of “Approved Levies for Local Government Authorities in Lagos State”.
I’d suggest you print and paste this on your notice board as a guide. Unfortunately the fees are not stated there meaning they vary from one Local Government Area to another. All the same it should help clarify what to pay for.
