Nairametrics|Barely a week after a section of Nigerian Breweries premises was engulfed by fire, Nigerian Bottling Company has also suffered a fire. The fire occurred at its depot in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state on Wednesday. Though the NBC has yet to issue a statement with details about the fire, it has larger implications on the company.
The fire will lead to a disruption of suuply of the company’s products in Uyo and environs. Thus leading to a temporary loss of market share. NBC’s insurers will also have their work filled out regarding payments to the firm. Which will not be immediate. NBC, which is one of the biggest companies in the non alcoholic beverage industry, is home to popular brands including, Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Schweppes and Eva water. The company delisted from the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 2011.
