NIGERIA LABOUR FORCE SURVEY

The unemployment rate in Nigeria in the second quarter of 2024 increased slightly to 4.3%, reflecting a 0.1 percentage point rise compared to the same period last year.  
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) disclosed that 84% of Nigeria’s working-class population is self-employed in the first quarter of 2024, reflecting a decrease from the 87.3% recorded in Q3 2023. 
At least 86% of 88.9 million Nigerians in the labour force have no post-secondary education in 2023.
