The stage is set as Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari and other African leaders converge to launch the long-awaited African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) today, July 7 at the 35th Ordinary Session of the Executive Committee of the Meeting of the African Union at the Palais des Congres in Niamey, the Nigerien capital.
@NGRPresident announced on Tuesday that it will finally become a signatory to the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (#AfCFTA) after one year of delay, but the decision could backfire beyond measure.
Nigeria should endorse the initiative in order to maximise its economic potentials. He said the AfCFTA has renewed the hope of Africa in its potentials and is ready to change the narrative about Africa.
