Dr Muideen Akorede, Senior Special Assistant, Media and communication to the Governor, on Sunday, revealed that, the Kwara State Government has sealed a $56 million investment deal from East China, for the establishment of Textile Industrial Park in the state. NAN reports
The of Kwara Chitex Industrial Park deal was sealed by the State Governor, Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed and Mr Shi Zengchao, M.D of Ningbo Jinsheng Star Import and Export Co Ltd, at the 18th China Zheijand Investment and Trade Symposium held in Ningbo, East China.
The initiative, said to be the only one Nigeria-bound, will involve Investments worth $3.7 billion in 31 projects, from which $1.4 billion is for outbound investments, it will create 3,000 jobs for indigenes of the state, while the state government will provide N1billion investment fund and 400 hectares of land for the project.
“We are looking for investors, especially in the area of manufacturing.
“ We have a very youthful population which shows there is a strong workforce that can support industrialisation.
“There are opportunities in textiles, agriculture, mining and other areas, the potentials are huge.’’Gov. Ahmed said
