The Federal Government has indicated plans to privatise theNigeria Postal service (NIPOST) .
The acting Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita, stated this during an unscheduled visit to the Federal Ministry of Communication Technology on Tuesday.
In a statement, the deputy director of Communications at the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mohammed Manga, said Ms. Oyo-Ita hinted that the Nigerian Postal Services will possibly enter into public private partnership in areas such as courier services, money transfer, E-comerce and mordernizing postal services.
He said the aim of the intended privatisation was to stem wastage of government’s resources.
