  • News breaking reveal that the Code of Conduct Tribunal has again, adjourned the trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki to November 5 and 6.
  • Dr Bukola Saraki had arrived at the Code of Conduct Tribunal in company of 81 senators, including the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu. Also, Senators Wamakko, Oduah and Anyanwu were amongst those cited as part of Saraki’s CCT entourage.
  • The Chairman of the Tribunal, however, banned cameras from taking shots of the proceedings or broadcasting it live.
  • Counsels to Saraki pleaded for adjournment to wait for the outcome of the Court of Appeal as the Senate President was docked for a second time during today’s hearing.
  • The Senate president had through his counsel prayed the Court of Appeal for an order halting his trial by the tribunal pending the hearing and determination of his motion on notice before the appellate court.
  • But the appellate court, against expectations on Monday, postponed ruling on the case indefinitely.
  • The court, which had earlier granted accelerated hearing to the appellant, and fixed October 19 for definite ruling on the case, failed to offer an explanation for the postponement but said it would communicate a new date to the parties to the suit.
