Saudi government reports drone attack on Riyadh oil refinery

The Saudi Arabian government has reported a drone attack on a Riyadh oil refinery owned by one of the largest companies in the world, Aramco, in an assault claimed by Yemen’s Huthi rebels.

While confirming the incident, which occurred on Friday, March 19, 2021, the Saudi Energy Minister said that the attack on the facility resulted in a fire outbreak that has been brought under control.

The minister, however, said that there was no casualties or deaths and no impact on the supply of oil or products.

The statement from the Saudi government reads, ‘’The Riyadh oil refinery was attacked by drones, resulting in a fire that has been brought under control. No casualties were reported and oil supplies were not disrupted.’’

The rebels in their claims, said they have targeted the energy giant, Saudi Aramco in Riyadh on Friday with 6 drones.
