Nigerian Born Chuka Umunna MP was recently (October 7) appointed Labour Party Business Secretary by the party leader Ed Milliband. He is born of a Nigerian Father and English Irish Mother. He is just 32 years of age.
Chuka describes himself as a ‘One Nation Labour” and is an advocate for “Blue Labour” a brand of labour that is against neo-liberal economics and support “guild socialism”. Guild Socialism advocates workers control of industries though ‘guilds”. Guilds is a term for a band of craftsmen coming together in a particular trade. A bit like a cartel. I have seen him speak a couple of times and does sound very intelligent and eloquent. He sure doesn’t sound Nigerian.
