Niger Insurance Plc has appointed Edwin Igbiti as substantive Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer. Igbiti is the immediate past Group Managing Director/CEO of AIICO Insurance Plc.
Profile: Igbiti holds an MBA from the University of Ado-Ekiti and an Advanced Diploma in Management from the University of Lagos. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London (ACII), a Chartered Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, and a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN). He is also a Member of the Institute of Directors in Nigeria.

He is also a certified Business Continuity Systems Lead Auditor from the British Institute, UK and an alumnus of the Howard University Business School, U.S.A.
A seasoned professional with an inestimable depth and wealth of technical experience that is acknowledged across the industry, Igbiti has managed relationships between the company and several international partners and affiliates and is a solution proffering, team-spirited leader with excellent interpersonal skills.
Igbiti has worked in various capacities, including underwriting sales and claims management in the insurance industry. Before joining AIICO Insurance Plc in 1992 as a Deputy Manager, he started out working at Phoenix Insurance Company as an underwriting trainee. The years he spent working there apparently helped to prepare him for the long and successful career he has had thus far in the industry.
When he joined AIICO, Igbiti steadily rose up the corporate ladder, thanks to a series of promotions. Shortly before his appointment in 2013 as the Chief Executive Officer of AIICO, he was the General Manager in charge of Non-Life and Technical Operations. He has also served as a liaison officer, managing relationships between the company and other corporations.
