NSE closes Tuesday’s trading in negative territory

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended it’s trading session in negative territory the second time this week.

The All-Share Index closed at 27,047.58 basis points, down 0.16%.

Top Gainers: FBN Holdings Plc was the best-performing stock today. The stock gained 7.53% to close at N5. Dangote Flour Mills Plc gained 5.95% to close at N22.25. Guaranty Trust Bank Plc gained 1.32% to close at N26.85. Nigerian Breweries Plc also gained 0.40% to close at N50.75. MTN Nigeria Plc rounded off the top five gainers for today. The stock gained 0.33% to close at N138.5.

Top Losers: On the flip side, Cement Co Northern Nigeria Plc was the worst-performing stock, declining by 6.61% to close at N16.25. UAC of Nigeria Plc fell by 6.06% to close at N6.2. Nestle Nigeria Plc fell by 4.93% to close at N1080. Forte Oil Plc fell by 3.45% to close at N14. Dangote Cement Plc rounded off the top five losers for the day. The stock shed 0.45% to close at N155.

Top Trades by Volume: Guaranty Trust Bank Plc was the most actively-traded stock today. 78.63 million shares valued at N2.11 billion were traded in 270 deals. Courteville Business Solutions Plc was next with 49 million shares valued at N10.7 million traded in 27 deals, followed by Access Bank Plc with 43.87 million shares valued at N301.92 million traded in 549 deals.

Zenith Bank Plc was next with 40.29 million shares valued at N732.93 million traded in 318 deals. FBN Holdings Plc rounded off the top five most actively traded stocks today with 36.5 million shares valued at N179.85 million traded in 352 deals.

Corporate Actions

The Federal High Court in Lagos directed that a meeting of the shareholders of Dangote Flour Mills be held for the purpose of considering a scheme of arrangement between the company and the shareholders of its fully paid ordinary shares of 50 kobo each.

Royal Exchange Plc scheduled its 50th Annual General Meeting to hold at the Panoramic View Hall, Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Wednesday, 9th of October, 2019, at 10.00 am.
