Forbes Africa has released the 2019 edition of its annual #30Under30 List of exceptional young Africans contributing positively to the development of Africa.

This year’s list has individuals doing great in business, technology, creatives, and sport. Out of the 120 people who appear on the list, 25 are Nigerians.

There are 8 Nigerians in the business category, 1 in the sport category, while there are 4 and 12 in the creatives and technology categories respectively.

Below is the list of individuals who made the list.

Business Category

  1. Adeniyi Omotayo, 28, Founder and CEO, Betensured Group

Betensured is a sports betting company with over one million registered users from 70 countries. It which was founded in 2015.

2. Ogechukwu Anugo-Obah, 28, Founder and CEO, BodyLikeMilk

BodyLikeMilk is a skincare/cosmetics brand.

3. Ijeoma Balogun, 29, Founder and Managing Director, RedrickPR

Ijeoma is the founder of RedrickPR, a company that specializes in designing and executing strategic integrated campaigns, to support enterprises and startups. She founded it in 2012.

4.  Bright Jaja, 29, Founder, iCreate Africa

iCreate Africa is a skill acquisition company set up to help improve the skills of young Africans who cannot afford formal education.

5. Henrich Akomolafe, 26, Co-founder and Managing Director, Akotex Nigeria Limited

Akotex is an elevator manufacturing company.

6. Oginni Tolulope, 29, Founder and CEO, Transfurd Limited

Transfurd is an agricultural company which focuses on agricultural development, management service, farm set up, farmland leasing and sales.

7. Barbara Okereke, 28, Founder and Managing Director, Oven Secret Limited

Barbara is a cake designer who started her cake baking business in Port Harcourt in 2015.

8. Jessica Anuna, 27, Founder and CEO, Klasha

Klasha is a platform for fast fashion retailers in Africa. It allows fashion buyers to buy items with the South African rand, Nigeria naira, Kenyan shillings, Ghanaian cedi, and three other international currencies, with a delivery time of one to five days.

9. Charles Edosomwan, 29, Founder and Chief Strategist, TekSight Edge Limited

TekSight Edge Ltd is a technology PR firm in Lagos, Nigeria, founded in 2014.

10. Adetola Nola, 28, Founder and CEO, Veritasi Property Limited

Veritasi Property Limited is a real estate company in Nigeria with over 12,000 real estate consultants.

Sport Category

11. Alex Iwobi, 23, Arsenal FC 

The Lagos-born Footballer has been listed as one of the Africans who are taking sports to another level. Alex Iwobi is the only Nigerian listed in the sports category.

12.  Evans Akanno, 29, CEO,  Cregital

Credigital is a creative and digital platform for African startups. It helps with company designs and websites and was established in 2015.

13. Fred Oyetayo, 25, Nigeria Founder and CEO, Fresible 

Fresible is an enterprise that provides services such as website development, software development, digital marketing, and events management.

14.  Damilola Olokesusi, 29, Co-founder and CEO, Shuttlers Logistics Company

Shuttlers Logistics Company is a transportation company that uses web and mobile app technology to enable users book trips along fixed routes at 60%-80% less than ride-hailing services.

15.  Chinedu Azodoh, 29, Co-founder and Chief Growth Officer, Metro Africa Xpress (MAX)

Metro Africa Xpress (MAX) is a bike-hailing service that allows passengers or packages to move around Lagos conveniently with the use of an app.

16.  Josh Okpata, 27 and Tochukwu Mbanugo, 29, Founders, Eazyhire

Eazyhire is a digital peer-to-peer sharing platform that enables individuals and businesses to rent items.

17. Muhammad Salisu Abdullahi, 28, Nigeria, Co-founder and Managing Director, eTrash2Cash

eTrash2Cash was founded in 2016 as social enterprise business which uses technology to exchange e-waste for money.

18. Silas Adekunle, 26, Nigeria, CEO and Co-Founder, Reach Robotics

Reach Robotics is a brand that specialises in reality gaming robot. In 2017, it launched the world’s first AR gaming robot that secured $7.5 million in investments.

Thrive Agric is an agricultural technology-enabled company that works with smallholder farmers in Nigeria to give them access to finance.

21. Chika Madubuko, 27, Co-founder and CEO, Greymate Care

Greymate Care is a digital platform that connects patients to an insured and professional caregiver at every time and hour of the day.

22. Richard Akuson, 26, Founder, A Nasty Boy

A Nasty Boy is a magazine that serves as a fashion platform, celebrating alternative and creative ideas, forms of expression and lifestyles, particularly in the LGBTQ+ community.

23. Burna Boy, 28, Musician 

Burna Boy (Damini Ogulu) is a Nigerian musician that rose to fame in 2012 after he released his first single Like to Party.

24. Helen Chukwu, 25, Founder and CEO, Helen Couture

Helen Couture is a clothing brand which has operations in Nigeria, London and Dubai.
