African Alliance Insurance Plc has appointed Mr. Sylva Ogwemoh (SAN), and Alhaji Ahmad Nahuche, as Non-Executive Directors of the company.
The announcement was made through a public disclosure issued, yesterday, to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
The appointments follows the resignation of the company’s Non-Executive Directors in June 2018.
Sylva Ogwemoh’s profile: Sylva Ogwemoh is the Principal Partner and Head of the law firm of Kevin Martin Ogwemoh Legala Commercial Law Firm which is headquartered in Lagos. He obtained his LL.B degree from the Bendel State University (now Ambrose Alli University), Ekpoma in 1987.
Ogwemoh was admitted as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1988. He also obtained a Master in Laws Degree (LL.M) with specialisation in Corporate Management and Finance Law from the Lagos State University in the year 2000.
Ogwemoh is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom, member of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA African Users’ Council), and a Panel Member of the Kigali International Arbitration Centre (KIAC), Rwanda. He is also a member of the Lagos Court of Arbitration, Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria and the Negotiation and Conflict Management Group.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, Nigeria, and a Certified Member of the Institute. He is also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, International Bar Association, LAWASIA, Nigerian Institute of Management, Capital Market Solicitors Association of Nigeria and a Registered Capital Market Practitioner with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Nigeria.
Alhaji Ahmad Nahuche’s profile:Â Nahuche graduated from the University of Bradford, UK with a Post Certificate. He holds a Bsc.Degree in Economics from the New York Institute of Technology, USA.
He began his career in the Judicial Service Department of the old North Wester State Civil Service in 1974. He served in various capacities in the Public Service where he rose through the ranks to become the Secretary to the State Government of Sokoto and Zamfara States between 1994-1998.
In 1998, he joined the Federal Civil service where he served for 3 years as the Director of Finance/Supply at the Federal Ministry of Health in Abuja before his voluntary retirement in year 2000.
Nahuche was conferred the Member of Order of Nigeria (MON) in 1998 by the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
